The post-script states that 30% of Doom II's European sales were in Germany. Mobygames says that the game was banned in Germany for excessive violence. How does this work? I'm willing to accept that the ban - if it exists - prevents it from being sold in stores, and that Doom II was therefore imported a lot. Was there a green-blood, 'Carmageddon'-style censored version? Or was it not banned at all?-[[User:Ashley Pomeroy|Ashley Pomeroy]] 00:00, 17 Jul 2005 (UTC)

: It was definitely banned in some form or other. Most of the germans I know just obtained warez copies of it: Quake and Quake 2 were similarly banned. I've heard rumours of a version of Doom II released without MAP31 or MAP32, but I can't substantiate that. -- [[User:Jdowland|Jdowland]] 15:17, 17 Jul 2005 (UTC)
