More often, there is a sentiment (not a consensus, just a statement here and there) that a person can release maps without all of them inheriting notability. OTOH the Doom community can decide that a person is so awesome, their unknown back catalog becomes interesting (like a box set for a musician), but that change isn't announced anywhere.
