Spiral is a single-level PWAD for Doom that was designed by Richard Krehbiel and released in 1994. While the author intended the level to be for deathmatch play, it is fully compatible and playable in single-player mode.

Secrets[edit]

  1. At the start, take the path to the south. The west wall has a secret door (marked with a greenish texture) leading to a stimpack and a chaingun. (sector 49)
  2. Just before the second lift leading up to the yellow door, jump north-east off the ledge through a fake wall to a teleporter leading to a plasma rifle and an energy cell pack. (sector 45)
  3. The path east of the blue key containing medikits has a secret door to the south-west leading to a megaarmor. (sector 64)
  4. North of the blue key is a secret door leading to 10 health bonuses and a path back to the start. (sector 69)
  5. The maze section in the east has an octagonal room containing a single cacodemon. The three southern sections of wall lower on pressing, revealing a teleporter to #3. (sector 117)
  6. After going through the blue door in the red key area, there is a secret door in the north-west leading to a chainsaw. (sector 128)
  7. Head east from #6 - the south-eastern wall of the first octagonal room encountered lowers on pressing, allowing access to a soul sphere. (sector 101)

Bugs[edit]

The northern outdoor part of the level has a rocket launcher which lowers on approaching the marble wall. Stepping back off the staircase causes the rocket launcher platform to rise again - if you are on the platform and it rises to the top, there is no way to lower it and you will be trapped.
