TAT07: Open Season is the seventh map of Dark Tartarus. It was designed by lihanchi and uses the music track "Haunting Religous" from Dark Vengeance, composed by Alexander Brandon.

Secrets[edit]

  1. At the start of the maze, head west, then when you get to two armor bonuses, look through the west hole to find a skull switch. Shoot it, then head further west to the wall that is lowering to find a passage with imps, which counts as two secrets. (sector 803)
  2. See Secret #1. (sector 812)
  3. The same switch you shot at Secret #1 will open several more walls south of Secret #1, which also lead to the same area and count as a secret. (sector 547)
  4. Head further south in the same hall with the previous secrets until you spot a candle. Lower the wall there to find health bonuses, armor bonuses, a backpack, and a switch. (sector 221)
  5. Once you kill all the mancubi in the map, head to the westernmost end and into the lava, then head north through a wall to a passage leading to a berserk pack, a BFG9000, partial invisibility, an energy cell pack, a radiation suit, and lots of backpacks. Look out for stealth arch-viles when you grab the items. (sector 717)
  6. Head all the way south in the westernmost lava area to find energy cell packs at the southeast corner. (sector 448)
  7. Head east and north from the barrel trap, then when you see the wall with faces on the east side, lower it to find a light amplification visor. (sector 380)
  8. Head north from the previous secret, then southeast, west, then south to the rocket launcher and rockets. Look to the west and shoot the skull switch to find more boxes of rockets. (sector 408)
  9. On your way to the middle "X" on the map, you will open two closets with barons of hell in them. In the right closet, lower the wall with the pentagram to find a megasphere and energy cell packs. (sector 446)
  10. Enter the small corridors north of the middle "X" and get to an area with a chaingun, megaarmor, and several other supplies. On the north end of the column here, shoot the switch, then head southwest and northwest to cacodemons, boxes of rockets, a light amplification visor, a radiation suit, and a backpack. (sector 415)
  11. Where the backpack was in Secret #10, go through the corridor nearby and head north. Lower the middle of the north wall to find a hall of imps. (sector 507)
  12. From Secret #11, go north past it, then west, then south at the first intersection. Go to the wall which will reveal a cyberdemon (not on Hey, Not Too Rough or lower), stealth barons of Hell (not on Hurt Me Plenty), and a megasphere. (sector 116)
  13. Head north from the previous secret, then west, then veer south, but go back and to the west wall where you will find stealth cacodemons. Shoot the skull switch there to lower the north wall, which has revenants, energy cells, and a light amplification visor. (sector 561)
  14. At the easternmost end of the map, go to the four corner blocks to press the switches on them, which will lower all of the columns in the area. The middle column has a single health bonus (Hey, Not Too Rough or lower) or arch-viles, energy cells, and a megasphere (higher settings, energy cells only appear on Ultra-Violence or higher).   15. At the northeast end of the maze, head west to the marble floors, then look south and shoot the switch there. Return to the east and go north to the lowering bloodfall. Use the switch to open the wall behind you which has medikits, a megaarmor, ammo, a light amplification visor, and a radiation suit. (sector 405)
  16. South of Secret #15, head east and use the wall that does not have a face to find an arch-vile and a soul sphere. (sector 449)
  17. At the west side, just before the lava area at the west end, is an alcove with four skulls on it. These correspond to four switches scattered in the maze. The switches to find are in Secret #4, northeast of the lava at the west side, just before the leftmost "X" on the map, and in the barrel trap. After you get all of the switches, return here and take the corridor to the south to enter a smaller maze. At the northwest part of this maze is a backpack, energy cell packs, a light amplification visor, a megasphere, and a radiation suit. (sector 299)
  18. At the northernmost end, there are six switches. To open up the secret, press the middle switch at the left side, the rightmost switch, the leftmost switch, the third switch from the left, the second from the right, and the third from the right, in that order. This opens the wall in the middle, leading to a BFG9000, ammo, and a megasphere. (sector 679)
