Someone mentioned something about projectiles moving very fast when rising or descending diagonally due to the vertical autoaim... was it here on the wiki? That tidbit should fit quite well in this article. In fact, I watched a demo recently where imps below retaliated against lost souls and their fireballs went up very quickly in a practically vertical trajectory. That phenomenon is tied to the code that also lets monsters bite or claw you from a considerably different height, I gather; unlike the monsters, the player can't shoot straight up, as its autoaim is more or less limited by the screen's view area.
