Does anyone know what the exact causes of the Dark Servant not transforming into a Maulotaur all the time are? Draconio 15:08, 25 Apr 2005 (UTC)
I think one of them is when you throw it right into a wall or another monster. Or if you throw several in the same place or too close to each other. I've done something were I spin around and throw several, but only about half would transform.
Maulotaur Minion Referenced in Heretic Post-Exit Screen[edit]
The post-exit screen of Heretic (or, at least, the Heretic: Shadow of the Serpent Riders release) tells pirates “we'll send a Maulotaur out to visit you.” If this wasn't in the original release, it seems like a clear reference (SotSR came out after Hexen), and if it was it seems a probable source of inspiration. --Nanashi (talk) 12:30, 11 August 2023 (CDT)
