- Delete. This entire article is a vehicle for Doomguy 2000's self-promotion complex. Most of the edits for this page have been made by User: Justice Infinity, who is widely believed to be Doomguy 2000 under a different name. Doomguy's Warzone Gold Edition is not a wad fit for it's own page in the Doom Wiki, as proved by the deletion of it's page from the ZDoom Wiki. I'll be the first to admit that my view might be slightly biased due to me being a part of the Doomworld community and therefore exposed to Doomguy 2000's wads, but I'm fairly confident that this page should not be in the Doom Wiki: it is nothing more than Doomguy 2000 blatantly advertising his work to fuel his desperate need for attention.Obsidian 03:29, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
- Keep. I tend to disagree with the following statement of why this page should be deleted. It's been there for almost a year and nobody has even nominated this for deletion or complained about it's existence plus it. The reason is because this wad indicated an historical event. It's obvious that Obsidian wants this page deleted because he doesn't like Doomguy 2000 and somehow feels it's an self promotion page. The Doom community considers Doomguy's Warzone important as it's also featured on TV Tropes. Justice ∞ 04:04, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
- I did say that my view might be slightly biased, bear in mind: I was hoping to get some opinions from other parties on what should be done. As for your other statements: yes, it is a promotion page. Despite the obviously negative nature of quite a bit of the article, there's somehow a veritable slew of screenshots and enemy descriptions: it's obvious that Doomguy 2000 is using the page to advertise his "work". There's also constant updates of variations of the wad that screams Doomguy 2000. Also, bear in mind that a rant on a random website does not equal importance: your TV Tropes link is not an indication that this page should be kept. If anything it's somewhat detrimental to your cause. Obsidian 19:36, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
- So I'm not allowed to make the article more interesting? Yes I did make plenty of edits to add more information about the prequel and other future editions because they have something to do with Doomguy's Warzone. I guess the rant on TV Tropes doesn't equal importance but is still considered important to the community. With all of the hundreds of enemies I thought it would be appropriate to have a notable enemies section to at least talk about them. The interesting picture section was created to show off some interesting screenshots of Gold Edition. Then again there's other people who have talked about Doomguy's Warzone and even compared it to UAC Military Nightmare. Justice ∞ 07:16, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
- I have attempted to improve the tone and style of this article by removing the self-aggrandizing material and needlessly amped-up level of detail and author commentary. I believe it is a Keep at this point, as it does address an actually released mod which was at least notable for being terrible - while I'm loathe to give people attention that are just out to get it, I don't want my personal opinions to override our general notability criteria. --Quasar (talk) 21:52, 5 July 2014 (UTC)
- Keep. Despite how obvious it is for everyone that this article was written by the author of the WAD itself, which in some cases it's enough of a reason for it to be completely deleted without any kind of consensus in a very dictatorial and despotist way, I'd like it to stay for three reasons: 1) it's a big WAD with lots of glitter (definitely not done in 5 minutes), 2) the author is somewhat known (be it for good or bad reasons), 3) once it's been reworked by the holy Quasar, it looks like it should stay. The article for the author needs some changes as well, but that's beyond the point. --Kyano (talk) 22:48, 5 July 2014 (UTC)
- Delete. Obviously Doomguy2000 made this page to make himself look cool even though hes a horrible troll that isn't even funny. Only his terrywad buddies will defend this page so its probably best just to delete it. I'm surprised it survived on the doomwiki for this long. --Unholypimpin (talk) 00:23, 17 April 2015 (UTC)
- Think that makes a difference st this point? None of of my so called terrywad buddies have even come here to defend the page. The other two people that voted keep, are not even my buddies. The reason why the article has survived for so long is because they are thinking about actually keeping it since the wad itself is notable. Plus one of the administrators has rewritten the article to a more appropriate format. It's obvious you want the page deleted because it's something you don't like with your reason having nothing to do with policy. Justice ∞ (talk) 17:07, 17 April 2015 (UTC)
- Without a clear consensus in three years, this actually should have been removed from VfD a long time ago; besides that, the fact that the mod *is* mentioned in Cacowards 2010 makes it minimally notable already, and we have decided that our "notability" standards are broad enough to basically include "anything released" at some point in the meantime. --Quasar (talk) 19:16, 17 April 2015 (UTC)
Doomguy's Warzone Platinum Edition[edit]
Would be appropriate to add information about this edition that is currently in development, or should I just wait until it comes out? Justice ∞ (talk) 07:16, 24 August 2014 (UTC)
