Certain RoE walkthrough vids[edit]

A while back, I linked a Youtube walkthrough in every Doom 3 map article.  Now I see the same user has made RoE walkthroughs. [1]  My question for RoE experts: are these legit?  It looks so boring!  All you do is carry power supplies around and blast imps with the shotgun over and over.    Ryan W (talk) 04:28, 22 April 2014 (UTC)

I don't understand the question because I don't think you've watched far enough in. Like Doom 3 RoE starts off a bit slow and then starts to throw you into more and more hectic situations. However in RoE you resolve the largest portion of these by activating the Artifact, which at first gives you slow motion ability. Eventually it adds berserk (a huge damage multiplier on all weapons), and then ultimately invulnerability as well. There are a few particularly memorable portions of the game, in particular the Sewer sequence where you have an environmental suit of sorts on (watch out, this was removed in BFG Edition), the three Hell Hunter boss fights which are well-designed and fun, the return through Phobos after shutting the power down and subsequent trip into the twisted Delta Labs that are merging completely with hell, and then Hell itself (which again is significantly altered in BFG Edition, and not for the better IMO). RoE is actually my favorite Doom 3 campaign out of the three official ones. Lost Mission's good but it lacks the amount of "new stuff" that gives RoE an edge. --Quasar (talk) 14:27, 22 April 2014 (UTC)
Um, obviously I watched the entire thing before making a statement like that.  But since I have never had a computer that could run id Tech 4 at an acceptable frame rate, all I really wanted was one plausible counter-argument from someone who enjoyed it.  So thanks.  (Maybe that guy makes the Hunters look too easy however.  :>     Ryan W (talk) 14:09, 25 April 2014 (UTC)
