Talk:John Carmack
From DoomWiki.org
Why the Wikia Search doesn't find "armadilloaerospace", the blog page of John Carmack?
Why should it? Bloodshedder 04:43, 26 May 2005 (UTC)
- Now it will. Ducon 05:01, 26 May 2005 (UTC)

Dr. Carmack?
In the Doom movie and Novelization based off of it, there is a particularly evil scientist named John Carmack. He founded the Hell Knight in Doom movie and novel. Could this be poking fun at John in using his name?
- Yes. "Dr. Carmack" and "Dr. Willits" if I recall correctly are the two names that were intentionally given to UAC scientists based on the game developers. The former is noted in the trivia section in Doom (film). I might clean up that section tonight since there are other things listed there that are obvious, redundant or questionable. But if you see things worth changing feel free to change them. :) Zack 20:51, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

Wanted to mention this at the beginning: it is sourced, and it is relevant to his early programming activities. Didn't add it. Flames welcome. Ryan W (talk) 23:04, 29 November 2014 (UTC)
Sorry, I can't fix broken link.
The "Time "Digital 50" snippet on Carmack" link (2nd external link) isn't working even at the Wayback machine (http://web.archive.org/web/20130921232938/http://content.time.com/time/digital/digital50/10.html). It says "Error: Page Not Found". Can somebody please fix it? 187.181.141.75 11:26, 29 January 2016 (CST)
