2	2006	Calamity Blade	Legacy of Rust#Weapons
3	2047	Fuel can	Legacy of Rust#Weapons

I think this is accurate, based on the DECOHACK source. The plasma rifle, BFG, and their ammo are replaced so maybe they should be renamed, too? But the rest of the new stuff is just props that we typically don't document on the pages. --Gez (talk) 12:17, 9 August 2024 (CDT)

Yes, they should. Also, the section anchors should actually exist. Meaning not to create them in the main article, but to use the existing ones in the table above. --Xymph (talk) 02:00, 10 August 2024 (CDT)

Canonicity[edit]

Should the new weapons and Doom + Doom II have a section in Weapons? Given these are new official weapons I think it's proper to add them there. M-S I (talk) 23:43, 10 August 2024 (CDT)

Should everything related to the alpha lost soul have it's own page, including the Ghoul? If the Blob can have it's own page then so does it. M-S I (talk) 23:43, 10 August 2024 (CDT)

After discussions with Xaser and sponge, I've established that the content in Legacy of Rust is considered canonical to the same extent as other expansions (ie., Final Doom, Master Levels, or No Rest for the Living). This means that, to answer the above questions, there should in fact be pages for the monsters and weapons. This is unusual from a vanilla Doom perspective but is not unusual when you consider that it is intended to be the same type of expansion as Resurrection of Evil was to Doom 3. --Quasar (talk) 08:51, 16 August 2024 (CDT)

One point I brought up in the wiki channel is that a lot of the pages on Doom 1/Doom 2/Doom 64 enemies have a ton of stats, technical information, and even strategy guides related to them that, for the most part, wouldn't really apply to the enemies here. Thinking about the stats for IWADs presence over single player and multiplayer for the Mancubus, for example. Or the stats about which (fan-made or not) maps on the wiki feature a type of enemy more than than any other. I am merely adding this as a comment and I don't mean to override your decision on this, but maybe it's best if we wait until said enemies are a bit more established in the custom maps sphere, and thus more well known? But if you think we should create these pages beforehand, then by all means we should do so. --Dynamo128 (talk) 10:25, 16 August 2024 (CDT)
I fail to see why we cannot have most of that content, though it would only currently apply to the levels in LoR as far as occurrences. Strategy would have to be written up by somebody interested but the stats can be extracted like usual. --Quasar (talk) 11:29, 16 August 2024 (CDT)
The "as usual" way happened via DMMPST (appearance stats) and DMINFO (thing data), and both would require updating to support LoR. While that looks pretty doable for the former, it won't be for the latter without D+D2 source code and then still may be not so doable. And even then I'm not so eager to invest the time/effort. That would leave the not-so-usual, old-fashioned, manual way to create those tables - and someone else to do it. --Xymph (talk) 12:38, 16 August 2024 (CDT)
I don't mind finding the needed data. I think most of if not all of it should be present in the DECOHACK but I'm not that familiar as I wasn't even involved directly in the project. Just watching from afar while working on Killing Time. --Quasar (talk) 13:18, 16 August 2024 (CDT)
I mentioned the ghoul in specific because some similar enemies have been featured in many wads in the past, Doom Zero for example, the shocktrooper may apply too, as it stands the other enemies aren't all that relevant. But the wiki has quite a lot of pages for completely irrelevant Doom enemies from the spin-offs and such. 22:50, 16 August 2024 (CDT) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by M-S I (talkcontribs) .

E1Mx/E2Mx format[edit]

While the maps are referred to in the Doom 2 format internally, people coming to the wiki may be searching for them in the format they're listed in-game. I don't think it's necessary to move or rename the existing pages; instead I've gone ahead and made redirect pages from E1M1: Scar Gate and so on to their canonical counterparts, ex. MAP01: Scar Gate. I wouldn't have bothered with even for anything but a high-profile, officially developed classic Doom game. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Captain Walker (talkcontribs) .
