Talk:MAP01: Titan Manor (Master Levels)

From DoomWiki.org

Under Bugs: "Two dead marines on the blue bed have no flags set for any of the difficulty classes, so they do not actually appear in the level."

I just opened this WAD in an editor and couldn't find any dead marines anywhere in the map. Were multiple versions of this map distributed with the Master Levels? --Jplebreton (talk) 17:54, 11 June 2017 (CDT)

Hi Jplebreton, welcome to the wiki.  It's not unheard of; which package are you using?  I don't see them in Depths of Doom either, and my MD5 value matches Fraggle's.  On the other hand, beware of editors which delete unused items.    Ryan W (usually gone) 19:29, 11 June 2017 (CDT)
Hi. The version of the WAD I'm using is from the Steam Doom 2 Master Levels distribution, which has the same file size and mapchecksum (as given by GZDoom) of 787fa80fe9665c322f853b74838e77cc as any other version I could find from GoG etc. I've opened it in multiple editors and none of them seem to be deleting anything. --Jplebreton (talk) 06:01, 12 June 2017 (CDT)
My copy is from Wad Archive and DMMPST doesn't report any things that are missing skill flags in this map (nor in any other Master Levels maps). --Xymph (talk) 06:08, 12 June 2017 (CDT)
I couldn't verify using my own copy of Master Levels, so I've removed the info - there are no dead player objects anywhere in it either. It is the Depths of Doom Trilogy version, which as far as I know is pressed from the same master image as the standalone release. The information also far predates the release of the Steam and GOG versions, having been added to this article in 2010, so there's no way it's referring to those. --Quasar (talk) 23:49, 12 June 2017 (CDT)
