Talk:MAP06: Collider Complex (Plutonia 2)
From DoomWiki.org
Hi there,
i'd like to add the following bug desprictions into the article, but i am not sure about the facts/reasons. Here is what i assume:
Bugs[edit]
[Chocolate Doom and Doomsday:]
1.: In Secret #3 (sector 413) the two armor bonuses northwest and southwest (things 795 and 796) of the teleporter (sector 449) cannot be picked up without using the idclip noclip cheat code: The width of the path between wall and teleporter is 32 map units, the same as the players width (32*32 map units always in cardinal direction - see http://web.archive.org/web/20100906191901/http://the-stable.lancs.ac.uk/~esasb1/doom/uds/things.html#sizes). So in theory one should be able to squeeze himself between teleporter and wall to reach those items, but practically, since orthogonal movement is not possible trying so usually will teleport the player.
[Chocolate Doom and Doomsday:]
2.: For the same reason, some armor bonuses in the teleporter rooms (sector 395 each) west and east of the hallway exiting the BFG9000 room cannot be picked up: West of the western teleporter are [from N to S) things 721, 722, 723, 724. East of the eastern teleporter are [from N to S) things 725, 726, 727, 728. The two southernmost bonuses on each side can be collected. (Doomsday only: One the eastern side i succeeded collecting the second one from the north by straferunning or wallrunning, maybe related to the noclip_bug.)
3.: In the south of the BFG-9000 room, there is an alcove each on the western and eastern side of the exiting hallway, each containing two armor bonuses. Those alcoves can only be accessed in deathmatch mode, but the armor bonuses are not tagged as multiplayer only. (I did not succeed yet to rocket jump into those aloves from the BFG9000 pillar in the center of the room, but this might be possible.)
- These all seem like legit issues to me. Maps that can't be 100%'d in the items category we do consider bugged. --Quasar (talk) 19:19, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
- One comment in addendum however; there's an unarchived version of the UDS available at DHS, but you wouldn't be able to link directly to the things section. Alternatively, it might be more appropriate to reference info.c in the Doom source code instead (using https://github.com/chocolate-doom/chocolate-doom/blob/doom-src-release/src/info.c#L1128 which will take you directly to the definition in question). --Quasar (talk) 19:24, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
