The Unobtainable Secret 4[edit]

So I'm on the ps4 version on doom and I just got the secret by standing on the very edge of the teleporter, quicksaving, and then when I quickloaded the game force my character down on the ground rather then the edge of the teleporter, resulting in me getting the "unobtainable" secret. Clever. That's a known bug in the original game logic; when loading a saved game, the player is restored to the height of the sector their midpoint is inside of instead of the highest sector their hitbox is touching (ports like Boom fix it). Glitch #4[edit]

When John Romero talked about Secret #4 being found after many years, he indicated that Zero Master's method was the intended route by him (and Romero is the designer of Map 15) and that there is no glitch. See this page which has Romero's tweets: https://archive.is/0HpLj It's possible that Romero is incorrect, though he does have a sharp memory. So should this info be included on the page, because as currently written it seems like Zero Master's route is to get around a bug. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.83.166.108 (talk)

I don't read the 'secret explained' comment as confirmation of actual design intent. See e.g. the comment by "derek tomek" on that archive link. Another comment by "Luis Mercado" states however that Carma(c)k (John, presumably) also confirmed it was intended.
