Talk:MAP33: Betray (Xbox Doom II)

From DoomWiki.org

Music?[edit]

Which music track does it use? Well, a lot of info is missing too. I don't have an Xbox, but I will add all the info on the level based on the WAD that's available for download. The only thing missing there is the Music, so can anyone add it? hfc2X 05:44, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

XBox360[edit]

The switch in Map02, leading to Betray is not really unavailable, it just do not work. I have checked it twice. The Switch is present, as this seems to be the same wad file, as the XBox version.--Cybdmn 13:28, May 31, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for clarifying that. It should be fixed now. -- Janizdreg 20:42, May 31, 2010 (UTC)

A few facts concerning the 1995 version[edit]

I post this here (to back up possible future edits) since I cannot post on a certain forum due to reasons.

It appears this map was available on /idgames for a while in May 1995, as an anonymous submission. The author did not provide his name nor his e-mail address, and he did not use the Doom file template either. Perhaps, it got removed due to these two reasons. Denis Möller (The Innocent Crew) reported its availability on ftp.cdrom.com, in May 1995.

Moreover, a shovelware compilation named 1001 Nights of Doom Part II featured supposedly this map. The problem is, there is no trace of said compilation, except for these lists of files contained within said purported compilation.

Lastly, this ought to be the original ZIP. I have removed the last 776 bytes and zeroed out the last two remaining bytes to remove the ZIP comment added by the shovelware compilers. Its size now matches the original (26571 bytes) reported by the compilers before editing in the ZIP comment.

Just to be sure, I have applied the same treatment to recant11.zip, and it indeed matches the /idgames release.
