Is "spectre (3)" supposed to mean nightmare spectre? Grain of Salt (talk) 14:29, 19 September 2019 (CDT)

No, I think they're just regular spectres. I've no idea what "3" means. --Eris Falling (talk) 14:49, 19 September 2019 (CDT)
In case the digit means one of those three blend masks, a true Nightmare spectre should have both 1 and 3 masks marked. The third blend mask when checked alone only gives it a nightmarish look but its HP is not that strong as should. --MtErebus (talk) 14:50, 19 September 2019 (CDT)
When Quasar sent me extracted PSX maps to generate thing tables for using DMMPST, he converted PSX-specific monsters/objects to new DoomEd numbers to distinguish them from regular things. His table was:
Spectre "1" (50% translucent) 892
Spectre "2" (100% additive) 893
Nightmare spectre 889
Spectre "3" (25% additive) 890
Bloody chain (decoration) 891
Spectral cacodemon 894
So that's where the "3" originated. As for their relation to what's described in Spectre#Variations, that's probably better explained by Quasar. --Xymph (talk) 16:20, 19 September 2019 (CDT)
