Doom sounds[edit]
Keep in mind a lot of doom sounds are stock sounds that weren't really used in movies or any recognisable media. Still, I am gonna drop whatever I can here.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtErD91Yycw
1:37 Doom elevator sound(Already written)
3:13 Doom pinky bite sound(Lion roar)
3:15 Doom mancubus alert(also lion roar after the pinky sound)
4:40 Doom explosion(This one is used in some media so ehh)
4:42 Doom chaingun/ pistol sound(this is the raw source, the actual one used in-game is an edited version of this sound)
The Cacodemon death sound is a sped-up version of ice skates! How odd. It is listed in the 6000 series as "6032, track 99. Ice skates"

Console sounds[edit]
If anyone has any information, I think it would be fitting for this article to also include the sound effects for the Playstation/Saturn/Nintendo 64 versions of the game as a separate section. --Dynamo128 (talk) 08:51, 13 September 2021 (CDT) Well, I went ahead and added the section - still need to add the names of Doom 64 sound lumps as seen in the .wad file for the 2020 re-release, as well as the names of extra stuff from the N64 version such as motherdemon, lasergun and dart trap sounds. In the meantime though, here is a doc file containing many known sources for these sounds, so people can already get started in trying to fill the table in:

Unverifiability[edit]
Starting to feel like this is becoming subject to the same kind of unverifiability mess that has plagued Doom music and its related articles, with anons and newly registered accounts adding unsourced statements and repeatedly reverting each others' opinions. Is it time to roll out a red box on this article and/or take other steps? --Quasar (talk) 03:34, 13 September 2022 (CDT)
- Red box, yes. Other steps, I dunno -- not touching these topics with a long pole. ;) --Xymph (talk) 04:01, 13 September 2022 (CDT)
- I have implemented the discussed changes. Some of the fact tags have remained because they cite a specific sound series and sfx name which could be verified with access to that series (I do not have time to do that currently, if I can even find them all to begin with).
- I will mention here in advance that I am not entertained by the whole Elmer Fudd thing. I think it's spurious and it's never been proven with a spectrograph analysis, just people going off what they hear by ear. What you hear is often what you want to hear when it comes to similarities between sounds. I will not be allowing that particular addition to this article ever until someone has done a simple spectrograph analysis and has proven that the frequencies are actually identical (within a reasonable, atomically small margin of error). --Quasar (talk) 23:31, 13 September 2022 (CDT)
