Credits[edit]

Can we document who made the maps? We at least know MAP01 was made by Tom Mustaine. MargaretThatcher (talk) 22:09, 8 March 2022 (CST)

Poking up the collective wisdom in the Doomworld forums might produce additional answers. --Xymph (talk) 04:18, 9 March 2022 (CST)
This is kmxexii speaking. Tom Mustaine's website on the archive has a list on the linked page that has specific credits for all of the levels that he and his father had a hand in. I also recall him linking to a scan of a design document that had a list that more or less correlated to what he had to say regarding McCandlish and Sieben, though I think that there were a few inconsistencies. The credits on my blog are based on both Tom's website and the linked design document. I'll try to see if I can't find the design document again or at the very least where it was linked.
Okay, kmxexii again. https://www.doomworld.com/forum/topic/57052-tom-mustaines-doom-music/?tab=comments#comment-1009496 is where Mustaine links the doc and the relevant information to PERDGATE. There's also some info relevant to Hell to Pay, here, but nothing specific with regards to author credits. --198.8.7.70 10:13, 9 March 2022 (CST)
Credits added, just need to add maps to respective pages. Now if only we had Hell To Pay's map credits... MargaretThatcher (talk) 22:35, 29 December 2022 (CST)

Hello Jaws in Space here. I've been meaning to bring this up before, but I wasn't exactly sure where to do it until now. I believe that it is quite safe to credit Jimmy Sieben for map 26. When looking at Tom's design document mentioned by kmxexii above there are only 2 discrepancies when compared to what Tom Mustain would later describe in detail on his website. Those being the credits for Maps 18 and 26. On his website Tom credit's himself for Map 18, but not 26, where as in the design document, which was made roughly 3 month's prior to the release of Perdition's Gate, we see that Jimmy Sieben is credited for Map 18 and Tom is credited for Map 26. I believe that it is pretty safe to say that the 2 maps were swapped positions pretty late into the development of the wad, there is further evidence for this as when you look at the "Position" column of the design document you will see that both Maps 18 and 26 are listed as floating rather than as solid, there is even a handwritten "24" written in this column next to map 18 suggesting that even at the time the document was made the decision to move map 18 to a later position in the wad was already made. I think Jimmy Sieben can be credited for map 26 based on this alone, but if need be I can point out design similarities between Map 26 and the other maps of Jimmy Sieben to further cement the fact. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:407:c600:5b90:309a:d7a:83d9:c42b (talk)

Music credit and sources[edit]

Just as a heads-up, I added music credits based on the info i found in this doomworld thread by Cammy from last year as well as the vgmpf article and Tom Mustaine's website. Still not finished ascertaining all the music credits. Same situation for the Hell To Pay article. --Gregor (talk) 00:49, 26 May 2023 (CDT)
