Talk:References to Classic Doom in Doom 3

Does Resurrection of Evil count as part of Doom 3? One of the arcade games in ROE uses the classic BFG 9000 sprite. -- TheDarkArchon 21:42, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

It is an expansion pack, so I would say so. Bloodshedder 00:39, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Another one, though this one is more debatable[edit]

I'm not sure if it's close enough to be put on here but there's a room in Doom 3 that resembles the slime corridor of E1M1. Here's a side by side comparison (hi-res version) for peer preview purposes. -- TheDarkArchon 22:33, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

In pak004.pk4, there is a image named bloodspray.tga, which uses the first gibbing frame of the doom zombieman. Would that count? -- Rmalec

Super Turbo Turkey Puncher 3[edit]

I've noticed a few more things about the turkey-punching minigame: The banner imitates that of the Street Fighter Alpha series, and also has a similar button layout, should this be added, or is it just extraneous info? 02:06, 25 December 2007 (UTC)

It doesn't have much to do with classic Doom references in Doom 3, which is what this article is about. Maybe we should create a separate Super Turbo Turkey Puncher 3 article and move all the information about it there and just put a link to it in this article? -- Janizdreg 03:02, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
Although Super Turbo Turkey Puncher 3 is probably the most blatant easter eggs, I don't think there's enough material on it to warrant its own article. If it was made into an actual game a la SPISPOPD then that would be different.
Since "Nabcon"->"Capcom" was already mentioned, I figure it can't hurt to mention Street Fighter as well. The original sentence has been modified to do just that, and it's shorter than it was before, so everybody wins! (BTW, Street Fighter Alpha 3 logo: [1] - compare with STTP3 logo.) May I merge this article with Doom 3, or should it have its own article? Fangusu 03:24, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

Please don't merge this. The main game articles should contain only the most essential information about the games, and the Classic Doom references are essentially trivial information. -- Janizdreg 07:57, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
