Talk:Spawn spots not preserved in saved games

From DoomWiki.org

I don't think this is at all accurate. I have saved and loaded a game plenty of times on Icon of Sin, with no crashes whatsoever, and the spawners were still working. When saving and then loading a game while a cube was in flight, it did not crash. Instead, it just made no monster when it reached it's designated target. I just tested this with Doom2.exe v 1.9.

Interesting.  But isn't the handling of null pointers hardware-dependent?  Could the effect of the bug be different on a real DOS machine, as compared with vanilla running on XP, as compared with vanilla running on DOSBox (different releases, different extensions, different Unix flavors...)?    Ryan W 03:13, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
Possibly. I'm pretty sure the computer which I tested has the ability to boot to Dos as well as Win98 with no Dos emulators needed. -Wagi
I've experienced the bug - It was very frustrating to save during MAP30 over your last progress, only to find that my save game became worthless because the game would crash shortly after re-loading. Zack 20:04, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
