As currently written, the technical explanation implies that an arachnotron cannot be affected: it has a width of 128, so its overlap into an adjacent block can be at most 64. So either
- people are once again posting port-specific information without identifying it (although if this is the same printz from the Doomworld forums, I doubt he/she would do anything so silly);
- this distance calculation, unlike some others, actually bothers to use square roots; or
- the blockmap fudge factor is not constant (cph's article about BARREL.WAD seems to suggest further subtleties).
