Level designers[edit]

We aren't listing level designers in the Doom (episode) or Doom II articles.  Why are we doing it here?    Ryan W 12:56, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

Although we aren't listing this detail in the doom or doom2 articles, I think the info should exist somewhere in this wiki. I think a category-based approach might suffice (See Category talk:John Romero levels). -- Jdowland 10:07, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
I agree, especially since it is already being included in the walkthrough articles.   Ryan W 22:06, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

Source for Io?[edit]

I think this wasn't such a strange question, because the manual and other primary sources I found, describe the story being set on "one of the moons of Jupiter" -- not which one. A secondary source like this review narrows it down to Io. The Io article also considers this a fact, which the TNT title screen depicting "Io in the background, with artistic liberties." But is there a (another) primary source to back that up? Mind you, I don't doubt it is Io, but I do understand where the anon question came from. --Xymph (talk) 04:08, 30 June 2023 (CDT)

Yes, I also checked manuals for a couple of versions of TNT and they do not mention Io at all, and neither do any of the text screens or level names. We may be dealing with a Mandela effect, but I have to believe it started somewhere. There may be some small detail in one of the levels that I've forgotten about, or it may be as simple as someone mentioning Io on a random website in the distant past. This is absolutely what it is and it's very old. There are hits on Doomworld Forums as early as 2001 asserting that the moon is/should be Io, without any citation of course. This is a bit problematic for us since we even have an article for it. Maybe we can solicit a clarification from surviving TeamTNT members? --Quasar (talk) 15:26, 30 June 2023 (CDT)
As the person whose fault this all is, I can verify that there is no detail in the levels that points to Io in any way since it was a very recent 100% playthrough of TNT (as in, I finished the very day I added the fact tag) that inspired this change to begin with. I would love for the answer to be Io (or really, anywhere definitive), but going through everything I have and know about, I can't find a single reference to any specific moon. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:6c44:4c7f:ebc5:3dee:2d66:1e75:9ef3 (talk)
