Walkthrough[edit]
Kind of feel like this is substantial enough to be its own article. It sort of disrupts the basic information on the project as is. 62KB is near the limit for some retro browsers in terms of the amount of data that can be POST'ed. AFAIK, we don't have a specific policy against dedicated walkthrough articles for notable mods, and, if we do, I'd suggest we get rid of it. I'm not opening a split proposal yet because I just wanted to bring it up first and see if anybody agrees. --Quasar (talk) 12:37, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
- Won't come as a surprise, but I'd rather it was split than deleted outright. I had a feeling someone would bring this up :P
If it's split, should the secrets section go with it? --Eris Falling (talk) 12:42, 8 August 2014 (UTC) - Ah I confused the walkthrough section with essentials. Given that I still wanted to add the other points of interest section, I think maybe ZDCMP2/Walkthrough is perhaps a good idea. --Eris Falling (talk) 12:45, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
- Why have walkthroughs for official levels but not for mods? --Kyano (talk) 13:46, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
- I tried to make it detailed without rambling on too much, but yeah, this is a single level and it is enormous. I'm not sure the walkthrough could be cut down without becoming very ambiguous, or missing sections completely.
While I'm here, what do you guys think of the thing tables? I split it into columns so it wouldn't be ridiculously tall, but even that aside, it actually looks kind of neat, you haven't got all the white space. I'm wondering if maybe that could be a thing, though it might mess up on different resolutions. --Eris Falling (talk) 14:58, 8 August 2014 (UTC)

- Agree with Quasar and Eris Falling; I think it's common sense that exceptions can be made for extreme situations. For example there was a proposal to combine the Essentials sections of Hexen walkthroughs into one page per hub, because otherwise the reader would keep flipping back and forth between maps as they backtracked. The written statement is probably a strong guideline at this point, rather than a policy, because we have exceptions in the other direction where one page per map might be overkill, e.g. Congestion 64, MINE1.
- Aside: if subpages are created, please use the full title (and then make redirects), not the abbreviation, so it appears next to the main article in lists. Ryan W (talk) 11:56, 9 August 2014 (UTC)
Soundtrack[edit]
As I mentioned in an edit summary, and having done some check, I still have a copy of MUSIC2.OGG from when it was just dj-jo's unfinished piece. IIRC Xaser arranged it to mix the main theme in, and then icytux made the final version. Note that there's a credit file in the archive. --Gez (talk) 19:59, 4 November 2015 (CST)
