Links for ribbiks wads[edit]
There are plenty of Ribbiks wads not on idgames, few are on dsda. I did find some dsda links, but does this website make it obsolete? Do i have to link them both, or just one of them? Should i link their respective doomworld fourms thread too? --BuildCat 11:34, 28 April 2018 (UTC)
- I'd say use his own website for the extra WADs, and for format go with something like:
- Swim with the Crumpets (Official website)
You could also put his homepage in external links in addition to this --Eris Falling (talk) 10:25, 28 April 2018 (CDT)
- Ok, thanks! --BuildCat 5:37, 29 April 2018 (UTC)
- I don't quite think the current arrangement is what Eris had in mind - if there aren't links that lead to the individual files or pages that describe them, then the main page link only needs to be on this article once, and not repeated for every file like it is currently. --Quasar (talk) 02:01, 29 April 2018 (CDT)
Possible retirement from mapping - worth a note?[edit]
I'm sure I'm not the only one who's come across this, but Ribbiks' website has a little something I think might be worth including in the article: the top of the Doom page on the site reads "THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS THE FUTURE. THANKS FOR ALL THE FISH.", suggesting that he retired from mapping after Crumpets 2. If this information was to be added to the article, would it be better at the top of the article with the general blurb or perhaps in a Trivia section? Or is it too speculative to be worth considering? Thoughts are welcome. --MF38 (talk) 10:18, 14 January 2025 (CST)
It's been there since 2019: https://web.archive.org/web/20190730080800/http://rbkz.net/doom/ Before this the section showed off WIPs of wads he was currently working on. It's just jokey placeholder text, it doesn't mean anything Billa (talk) 10:40, 14 January 2025 (CST)
- Ooookay, I just read too much into it evidently. Thanks for clarifying. --MF38 (talk) 10:58, 14 January 2025 (CST)
- That doesn't show the 'thanks' line yet, but this was added in the summer of 2022, so also isn't new indeed. Could be just a general Hitchhikers reference. :) --Xymph (talk) 11:30, 14 January 2025 (CST)
