Usage

This is used for linking to a file (usually a PWAD) at the Doom Speed Demo Archive, as:

{{dsda2|wad=somewad|title=somename|secret=1}}

where somewad is the WAD file name and somename is normally the file's title or description (although, like any hyperlink, it can say other things instead).

Example: {{dsda2|wad=sid|title=Suspended in Dusk}} becomes Suspended in Dusk at the Doom Speed Demo Archive

  • The title can also be the first, unnamed parameter: {{dsda2|Suspended in Dusk|wad=sid}} becomes Suspended in Dusk at the Doom Speed Demo Archive.
  • The WAD name can also be the second unnamed parameter: {{dsda2|Suspended in Dusk|sid}} becomes Suspended in Dusk at the Doom Speed Demo Archive.
  • For WADs with multiple pages, a map number can be specified with the map parameter. This follows DSDA's URL format, e.g. "map=E4M2" for E4M2 or "map=Map+11" for MAP11.
  • The secret parameter, if present, indicates a map with a secret exit, for which demos are displayed on separate pages (for DSDA categories which distinguish them), e.g.: Doom II's MAP15 (normal exitsecret exit).
  • If no title is given, the template uses the page title.
  • If no WAD name is given, the template displays an error message: Error: no wad given, see the instructions to use this template.
  • If the "at the Doom Speed Demo Archive" bit is not desired, the linkonly parameter can be used: {{dsda2|Suspended in Dusk|sid|linkonly=1}} becomes Suspended in Dusk.
