Tetanus is a ten-level PWAD for Doom II by the Squonker Team, designed for vanilla Doom, that was released on February 3rd, 2023. It features an "orange-box aesthetic", inspired by blockout textures and designs from various Source engine games, as well as Super Mario Odyssey's "Steam Gardens." Its levels are centered around clean, easily readable level design, with a gimmick of telegraphed pathways and encounters.

Tetanus was named a runner-up at the 2023 Cacowards.

On July 18th, 2024, Tetanus was added to the list of official add-ons for the Doom Classic Unity ports.[1] On August 8, 2024, it became a featured mod for Doom + Doom II.

Story[edit]

The following story in included inside this WAD's README.TXT file.

Under a bright blue sky, with the scent of sea salt in the air, a monument to humanity's worst tendencies rots. Hubris, cruelty, using lead in paint, at last sentenced to death beneath the sun's radiant judgement. As decades turn to centuries, life infests the bloated corpse of the corroded facility. What was it used for? Hubris? probably. Cruelty? Definitely. Did they use lead in the paint? Don't lick the walls.
