The UnMaking is a 40-level megawad for Doom 64 created by scwiba, the fourth and final chapter in scwiba's megawad series, preceded by UnAligned, UnNecessary and UnBeliever. It was originally released in December 2020 as a 33-level megawad for Doom64 EX before seeing an updated release with 40 maps for the Steam re-release of the game. The UnMaking takes advantage of the macro scripting system of the engine to create many unique scenarios and setpieces seldom seen in regular Doom WADs, as well as several visually distinct locations built mostly using the original graphics.
For its experimental and innovative usage of the macro scripting system, The UnMaking received the Machaward in 2021.
On January 1, 2023, version 2.0 was released with extensive improvements throughout most of the mod.[1] On August 26, 2023, version 2.5 (dubbed The Final Cut) was released with more changes, replacing MAP22 for a completely new one.[2]
