The ZDoom Community Map Project, or ZDCMP, is a very large map made collaboratively by many ZDoom community members, each contributor adding a new section to the map or improving on previous work. The project sought to highlight ZDoom's capabilities by going well beyond the usual limits of Doom maps and using several then-new features such as custom monsters, swimming in deep water, scripted puzzles, and so on. It was well-received, earning one of the 2004 Cacowards, and spawned two separate attempts at a sequel, the second of which was successfully completed and also received a Cacoward.

Secrets[edit]
- After you reach the area with the western end of the river (the one near the starting point), check the northeastern corner of this area. Press the northern part of that corner to reveal a room (sector 174) with a soulsphere inside of it.
- From the area with secret #1, open the door to the south. Enter the next room and look at the tech panels on your left (the northeastern part of the room). One of the parts can be open, allowing you to enter an under-construction room (sector 1225) and grab a few health bonuses and a partial invisibility.
- Go further into the south, and you will notice a computer on the eastern side of the room that sparks. Using it will open a hidden corridor directly south of your position. This corridor will lead you to the secret area (sector 738) with a megaarmor inside of it.
- In the big outdoor section with pillars and a backpack overhead, open a northern part of the rock wall near a tree (the one north from the steps leading to the cave entrance). Inside of it (sector 1194) grab two nukes and two stimpacks, and take a look at Hotwax's tombstone while you are here.
- North from the blue skull door (the one in the room with blue lighting), there will be a crate on the west. Go behind the crate and shoot the hole in it. You will be able to enter the crate (sector 946) and find 64.PAK inside of it.
- As you are entering the tunnel with the pool that leads to the underwater cave system, look to your left (east). Part of the wall is brighter than the rest. You can open it to find an area (sector 1191) with a statue, three nukes, and a medikit.
- In the gigantic crate area, go to the northwestern corner of it. You will notice two computers next to the northern wall, standing next to each other. Use the one on your left and jump on a crate west from the computers to get another soulsphere. (sector 1911)
- In the northeastern corner of the same area, there will be a set of boxes stacked like stairs. Use these boxes and go west until you notice the crate that is open from the top. Jump into that crate to get an armor. (sector 1679)
- In the room with the main door switch (located southwest of the crate area), you will notice Enjay's icon on a part of the southern wall, between two computers. Press it to get a rocket launcher. (sector 2149)
- In the underground computer area behind the eastern yellow skull door, jump into the acid pool (the one with four pipes pouring it) and grab nine health bonuses. (sector 3740) Don't forget to grab a radiation suit west from the secret.

Technical information[edit]
Inspiration and development[edit]
The room under construction (secret #2) is based on the Town's Interrogation Area where Strife begins, including its texturing. When you enter it, a message appears reading "Err... still not finished? .64 will obviously take forever!" At the time this part of the WAD was built, Marisa Heit (Randi) was working on implementing Strife support in ZDoom. It was slated for version 2.0.64 (released June 8, 2004), but ultimately implemented in version 2.0.90 (released October 10, 2004).
