Theatre of Doom is a single-level PWAD for Doom that was released in July 1994. It was designed by James Wilson (Shade). The level is reminiscent of a movie theater, with multiple screening rooms in various sizes. The level is an early example of a semi-realistic map with the usage of doomcute designs.

Other points of interest[edit]

Secrets[edit]

  1. Ahead of you at the start is a shotgun, whose sector counts as a secret. (sector 483)
  2. The far north-east of the opening area has a door leading to a shotgun guy, a cacodemon, 4 shotgun shells, a medikit, and an armor. (sector 489)
  3. The far north-west of the opening area has a door leading to a cacodemon, a stimpack, a barrel, and a backpack. (sector 492)
  4. The first indoor room has doors to the west and east leading to small rooms. The eastern room has a secret door on the south wall (marked with a different texture) leading to six light amplification visors and a medikit. (sector 55)
  5. In the west is a theatre with a rocket launcher behind the screen. There is a secret door to the south (marked with a green texture) leading to four boxes of rockets. (sector 279)
  6. Run up the stairs east of #5's theatre and continue towards the yellow key area. A small lift has briefly lowered (it can be lowered repeatedly), allowing access to a secret door to a megaarmor and a soul sphere. There are three secrets here. (sector 300)
  7. See #7. (sector 308)
  8. See #7. (sector 495)
  9. Head east from the first indoor room - the second door to the south is a yellow door leading to a rising staircase. Go through the door at the top - there is a secret door in the north of this room leading to a chainsaw. (sector 218)
  10. Go past the door to the room with the crusher near the red key - there is a secret door on the west wall which opens on shooting, leading to six energy cell packs, a plasma rifle, and a medikit. (sector 414)
  11. The room north of the blue key room has a secret door to the south-west leading to a partial invisibility. (sector 127)

Bugs[edit]

Line 452, a one-sided linedef, was given a manual door action, meaning it will crash the game in vanilla (or Chocolate Doom) upon use.
