As of this moment (i.e. the upgrade to MediaWiki 1.13), there appears to be no "official" documentation of this bot's tasks.  The code might have been written by User:Dantman [1], who does a lot of unbelievably intricate backend work.  The Wikia staff have at least confirmed the bot's innocuousness [2].    Ryan W 20:40, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
