Maps[edit]

Hello, since I've noticed you use SLADE's "save map image" feature, I'd like to mention the latest dev build of it has improved them a bit. Instead of using positive values for the CVARs map_image_width and map_image_height, you can use negative values that will be used as factors for the image size according to the map size. I.e., with height and width at -1, the image dimensions will be 1 pixel for 1 map unit. With -2, it's halved, with -3 it's divided by three, and so on. It'll help avoid wasted space (e.g., File:HEXDD.WAD MAP47.png has a mostly vertical layout but the default dimensions of 800x600 mean that there's wasted horizontal space on both sides) and it'll give lines a consistent width regardless of map size. --Gez 22:26, 19 January 2014 (UTC)

I've given it a try for the Blight map, using settings of -3 for height/width and 2 for thickness. -- ETTiNGRiNDER 00:10, 20 January 2014 (UTC)

Plagiarism at other site[edit]

Wanted to let you know that your work on H!ZONE has recently been plagiarized to the wikia site. --Quasar (talk) 14:31, 24 August 2016 (CDT)

Wendigo crash[edit]

Does this happen in Chocolate Hexen? So far I'm unable to track down a cause. --Quasar (talk) 07:19, 13 January 2018 (CST)

  • It seems like there's more to it than I initially thought since I can't seem to trigger it now. The SLADE map editor had probably mauled my maps in some additional way, faulty REJECT maybe because I remember having all sorts of problems with blind monsters and such if I didn't run my levels through WARM afterwards. Still no idea why that would make wendigos bug out if they were facing the player at the start of the map but not with their backs turned, and not other monsters. If I can get it to happen again I'll offer up the map for investigation but for now feel free to remove the mention of the bug. - ETTiNGRiNDER (talk) 08:53, 13 January 2018 (CST)
