Heretic music[edit]
Do you have a link to the facebook post in question, or is it private? --Gez (talk) 02:24, 22 June 2021 (CDT)
- I asked him over messenger, but I have a screenshot in the drive folder. MargaretThatcher (talk) 16:08, 22 June 2021 (CDT)
Romero tweet[edit]
When adding a wide-ranging assertion like this, the minimum a reviewer would need is a link to the actual tweet. Please add a citation to the edit, or at least provide the link in the edit summary, or here. Thanks. --Xymph (talk) 01:58, 8 July 2021 (CDT)
- Can't find the tweet, but Civvie mentioned it in his Heretic vid. MargaretThatcher (talk) 13:22, 8 July 2021 (CDT)
Warning for BLP libel/defamation[edit]
We take a particularly dim view of editing biography pages with information that can be taken as libel or defamation as it is illegal to publish such information. It is forbidden by our Terms of Use explicitly - please immediately review these terms in full. This is a warning that any such further edits will see your account and IP address(es) blocked for a period of at least three months. --Quasar (talk) 08:02, 16 October 2021 (CDT)
- Not to be an ass, but what did i do? Ok I remember, but Torm actually did plagiarise, didn't he? MargaretThatcher (talk) 20:00, 16 October 2021 (CDT)
- Besides the aforementioned legal concerns, I would like to chime in for just a moment to say that in my humble opinion, drama really has no place on the DoomWiki, which should strive to be as neutral and non-inflammatory as possible. Bringing up past dramas like that only results in stirring shit up, and I think nobody wants that no matter which side of the argument they were originally on. There are much better things to work towards than this. --Dynamo128 (talk) 03:40, 17 October 2021 (CDT)

- Oh, and while I hvae your attention, Ralphis said something kinda weird here. It's 20 years ago so he's probably changed but WTH: https://www.doomworld.com/forum/topic/77279-dwbs/?page=4 MargaretThatcher (talk) 12:19, 17 October 2021 (CDT)
- A page for a person on this wiki is there to summarize their contributions (in the form of mods, primarily) to the community. It is not a general place to explain their entire life, or especially to re-litigate whatever dramas they may or may not have contributed toward. As others have said, even if these allegations were relevant to the site (and they're not), in order for this to not constitute libel it must be a well-documented and cited incident, and must furthermore be stated as being an allegation, unless this is some matter that was considered settled in a court of law. You should see that it's simpler to stay away from this type of issue entirely if you want to keep contributing here. --Quasar (talk) 16:59, 17 October 2021 (CDT)
Reviews of recent edits[edit]
In case you're not tracking Recent Changes regularly, there were reviews on your edits made to three articles yesterday. --Xymph (talk) 05:56, 10 August 2022 (CDT)
Perdition's Gate release[edit]
Do you have a source for the exact release date of July 26, 1996? Then it should be linked. No, the datestamp on the WAD file doesn't count. This was a commercial product so there almost certainly was a delay between the last change in the product's data, and its actual public release. That is why I used the phrase "file dates point to" without the day. Given that the 26th is near the end of the month, the public release could even have happened in August. Without a reliable source, your edits will need to be reverted. --Xymph (talk) 02:04, 24 August 2022 (CDT)
- I'll fix that. MargaretThatcher (talk) 12:06, 24 August 2022 (CDT)
Username Purpose[edit]
Why the username of MargaretThatcher? It's a pretty specific person to have as your handle. --User:Altazimuth (talk) 01:53, 31 August 2022 (BST)

Stop doing single edits for something that can be done in a single edit[edit]
You did more than 24 single edits for Batman Doom when you could've done it all in a single setting instead of bloating the edit history. Not only you make it a pain in the ass to review, you also clutter the page with unnecessary edits. I think you've been here long enough to know that already. If you're just trying to inflate you edit count, that's even worse. That's just dickish. You also make edits of dubious quality, sometimes removing chunks of useful information, or writing in an informal/colloquial manner that's not apt for a wiki. - Endless01 (talk) 21:46, 30 August 2022 (CDT)
- That really hurt my feelings.MargaretThatcher (talk) 21:49, 30 August 2022 (CDT)
- Endless doesn't sugar-coat it but his observations are accurate. I've already had to (partially) revert and clean up way too many of your edits to still have much patience for this. Please use the Preview button instead of submitting every little change, and study the guidelines and editing manual for correct wiki formatting, use of local and external links, capitalization rules, etc. Minor rewrites to improve style and readability are okay, but do not rewrite for the sake of rewriting (often it is better to leave well enough alone). Do not remove info unless it is blatantly incorrect, and even then it is probably wise to first discuss that on the article's talk page. Follow Recent Changes and learn from the corrections to your edits. Thank you. --Xymph (talk) 04:36, 31 August 2022 (CDT)
- You keep botching links and capitalizing common nouns. We went over this a year ago but it seem you just don't learn. Sena and I have had to clean these up before and I have no patience for it anymore. There are two roads forward: either you clean them up (so the additions can be properly reviewed for content) and stop repeating these mistakes, or this and future malformed edits will be flat out rejected. --Xymph (talk) 03:56, 25 August 2023 (CDT)
- Sorry about that, I tend to capitalize things I think should be capitalized, which I then find out shouldn't be. I also only really know how to link things with square brackets. I hope I've gotten better about the "taking out info" thing. MargaretThatcher (talk) 21:35, 25 August 2023 (CDT)

Perdition's Gate soundtrack[edit]
You claim to have recovered the names of the music tracks for Perdition's Gate and Hell to Pay. Where can we see the list? This way, I can add each one to the individual level pages appropriately. Thanks. --Dynamo128 (talk) 04:44, 30 December 2022 (CST)
- Only for Tom Mustaine's songs, but they're [1]. Anything not by Tom just uses the level names and should be disregarded. MargaretThatcher (talk) 01:41, 1 January 2023 (CST)
falklands.[edit]
how are the falklands doing? also, how's selling off all the UK's resources? 2A00:23C6:E782:EA01:F88D:3222:DB6A:B3E9 08:35, 13 January 2023 (CST)

Seriously.[edit]
Serious question: do you make it your life mission to ignore advice/warnings and be as obnoxious as possible? I reviewed your edits here and here - which isn't something I normally do - and not only did I find out that one was essentially a re-submission of an edit that had already been rejected once, so it only felt logical to reject it again, but the other completely broke the choosing of a random line in the Did You Know template. I've only been following your activity here from the wayside up until now but felt the need to finally say my own piece after this "incident". Please learn how to contribute to this site in a manner that helps everyone - the guidelines exist for a reason. --MF38 (talk) 00:57, 3 September 2023 (CDT)
- Look. I've struggled with grammar my whole life. And my edit to my trivia submission comprised of me going back and fixing my mistakes (bad capitalizations and busted links). You seem to ignore my attempts to better my writing/editing when you accuse me of trying to be "as obnoxious as possible". Xymph I can understand being angry (I was a but unreceptive), but you coming out swinging by making character accusations when you admit to being a bystander. I'll address your complains one by one.
- If you think I'm trying to come off as abrasive, I'm not. My username and user page seem brash, but I wrote that at a much less mature time when I thought larping as dead tories was funny. If there is a way to change my username, I'd love to.
- That "Re-Submission" was me fixing the mistakes I've made. Moving on to the mistake I made when fixing that mistake:
- I'm sorry I got sloppy when I copied my trivia from Trivia to Template:Did you know. Now I know not to just Ctrl+A Ctrl+C Ctrl+V my edits from one page to another.
To end this, I'd like to quote from those guidelines you sent me.
To discuss a specific edit, post to that user's talk page. (Try not to yell.)
'Tis all.MargaretThatcher (talk) 02:59, 3 September 2023 (CDT)
- We tried not yelling many times and it didn't work, so MFG38 was well within his right to get a little direct with you. I myself struggle with mistakes, and occasionally even bad grammar shows up in my edits - I was still able to edit the trivia section successfully a while ago. And I always try to clean up the mess I create if I notice it in time. You clearly are not a lesser person than I am, so if I can do it, then so can you. "I'm trying my best" can only work so many times as an excuse. And this is not me yelling btw, because I think some of your more recent edits have been better than what you did in the past, where the edits approached vandalism territory if I am frank, and some of the trivia you added there is actually quite good in fact, but you need to read more guidelines, pay more attention to the work other editors are doing, and in general polish up your edits more. Because that's the thing, you are not in fact trying your best. If you were, you wouldn't break a page and leave it hanging like that for someone to clean up the mess afterwards. --Dynamo128 (talk) 03:46, 3 September 2023 (CDT)
- Reasonable statement. Improving one's craft should always be a focus. MargaretThatcher (talk) 03:50, 3 September 2023 (CDT)
- Precisely. I re-added some of the trivia I deemed worthwhile to the page (scrapped other that seemed poor or pointless), provided I didn't make any mistakes myself which is always a possibility, please have a look at how I did it, and use the preview function for future edits, to ensure you don't repeat the same mistakes should you ever want to edit the page again. --Dynamo128 (talk) 03:59, 3 September 2023 (CDT)

Batman Doom edits[edit]
What are you doing? Can you please stop until you explain what it is that you are doing right now? --Dynamo128 (talk) 02:08, 9 September 2023 (CDT)
- I'm adding the objective text from the intermission screens of Batman Doom (e.g. Intermission Info: OBJECTIVE: CAPTURE KILLER CROC). MargaretThatcher (talk) 02:09, 9 September 2023 (CDT)
- That's fine, but the way you are doing it is not really acceptable in my view: for example, I had no idea that this involved mission objectives. Let's think for a second about a better way to implement this idea. --Dynamo128 (talk) 02:11, 9 September 2023 (CDT)
- Maybe instead of the rather vague "Intermission Info", I call it something like "Level Objective".MargaretThatcher (talk) 02:14, 9 September 2023 (CDT)
- I think it would be better to utilize the method that has been used in a few WADs before, such as for example MAP22: Outcast Site of Ashes: Afterglow and E1M3: Laboratory of Chex Quest]] for alternative map titles. I realize it's meant to be a briefing in some cases, but some of these intermission titles do not even give out proper mission objectives really, and are in fact just titles. What do you think? --Dynamo128 (talk) 02:15, 9 September 2023 (CDT)
- I'll write "Briefing" for normal maps, and "Chapter" for Batcave maps. Could you do that for the pages I've already edited?MargaretThatcher (talk) 02:18, 9 September 2023 (CDT)
- I think the way I set it up for my edits just now is honestly the better and least ugly way to go about it, can you please edit the rest of the pages to match it? We do not need to use all caps, as it is distracting to read and does not follow the usual convention when it comes to intermission-exclusive map titles anyway, so please capitalize accordingly. --Dynamo128 (talk) 02:28, 9 September 2023 (CDT)
- Unfortunately you are not doing correct capitalization. For titles, all words that are not things like "and", "or", "the" should be capitalized unless they are the first word, and also, it's on the intermission screen, not in. --Dynamo128 (talk) 02:41, 9 September 2023 (CDT)
- Realized midway through I wasn't capitalizing right, sorry. MargaretThatcher (talk) 02:42, 9 September 2023 (CDT)
- Done. I'd add the song titles and reorganize the level table so it's in chapter order, but it's 1 AM where I live and I need to sleep. MargaretThatcher (talk) 02:58, 9 September 2023 (CDT)
- Thanks for following the instructions, I approved all your edits. --Dynamo128 (talk) 02:59, 9 September 2023 (CDT)

You wrote "reorganize the level table so it's in chapter order": please discuss your proposal before making any edits in this area. --Xymph (talk) 10:22, 9 September 2023 (CDT)
- I meant "divide the levels into the chapters stated by the game" (E.G. Joker would be Axis Industry, North Mansion, Theater and Joker). MargaretThatcher (talk) 14:22, 9 September 2023 (CDT)
- The chapters are described at the start of the Content section, but these appear to be conceptual only. There is no actual grouping of levels (like MAPINFO allows clustering maps into episodes), so in-game they remain grouped by sky (01-11, 12-20, 21-30) as currently formatted. Also, with three columns the content section in already more complex than usual. I'd leave well enough alone. --Xymph (talk) 15:32, 9 September 2023 (CDT)
E3M5 credit to Tom Hall[edit]
For this edit (and related edits on the pertaining person pages) you did not provide a source, which is essential. We just had a discussion on E1M4, if you cannot provide convincing material to support your edits, they will be rejected. --Xymph (talk) 01:58, 2 December 2023 (CST)
Related, a source for your Perdition's Gate edits is also needed. Without them all these will be rejected soon. --Xymph (talk) 04:04, 10 December 2023 (CST)
- My source is Tom Mustaine's old website.
- "We required a special teleporter pad for the transport from Earth to the Ancients world, [so] Bob whipped up this design in Autocad (see sketch below)." :
- "...the star shaped teleporter pad section below created by Bob and myself..."
- Link: [2]
- I'm fine with my edits on E3M5 being reverted, BTW. MargaretThatcher (talk) 02:46, 11 December 2023 (CST)
Put images in articles?[edit]
Early this year you uploaded Bob Mustaine's sketches. Could you put them into the appropriate article(s) so they're no longer in the unused file list? Thanks. --Xymph (talk) 03:42, 2 December 2024 (CST)
- Sorry, I meant to but forgot. MargaretThatcher (talk) 21:37, 5 December 2024 (CST)
