Broken reference[edit]

Hi, great progress today, which will take me many days (if not longer) to catch up on. ;) Just a note that the 5th reference here is broken. --Xymph (talk) 11:05, 1 January 2022 (CST)

Thanks. It's behind the registration wall, but I can probably create an archive link of it later or, at worst, just remove the reference and keep the quote.--Matador (talk) 18:02, 1 January 2022 (CST)

Image uploads[edit]

Hi, please be more careful when uploading images. Broken paths cause redlinks that are hard or impossible to fix, and misformatted title screen uploads require fixes that are easily avoided with more attention, and take time that is better spent elsewhere. --Xymph (talk) 05:59, 18 January 2022 (CST)

Progress[edit]

Hi! Just wanted to say thank you for all the hard work you've done for the wiki this month, you've filled in many long-wanted pages and documented lesser known projects which are both wonderful things to have here. It is all much appreciated, just wanted to point that out :) --Dynamo128 (talk) 11:23, 25 January 2022 (CST)

Seconded, and in particular the custom things listings in the correct format for new and existing mods. This is a big help towards creating correct and complete map skeletons. But equally essential in covering this month's flood of WAD overviews is Dynamo supplying me with WAD versions containing the cropped maps. This previously was often the most time-consuming part of my work preparing the skeletons. Dynamo did this for most of the bigger mapsets this month, including megawads added by you (and others). But it would be good to divide this work-load so that he can also work on other tasks. So if you are able and willing to provide cropped WADs for the mapsets you may add in the future, that would be appreciated by both of us. We hang out in #doomwiki but you can also contact me via Doomworld PM or email to discuss the details. --Xymph (talk) 12:24, 25 January 2022 (CST)
Thanks, guys. I'd be willing to provide cropped WADs for future mapsets, not sure if I'll have much time to do so in the upcoming month(s) but would be interested either way. I shot you an email to discuss the details. --Matador (talk) 05:06, 7 February 2022 (CST)

Custom things lists[edit]

Hi, early this year you helpfully provided TSV lists for the custom things in four Impie mods. I finally caught up with those, thanks again. If you could do the same for the other five mods that already have an overview page (Ghoul School 3D, Midgard Outlaw, Operation Body Count, Operation Sea Wolf) then I can bring the map articles for those up to par too. --Xymph (talk) 11:34, 23 July 2022 (CDT)

Sure, I should be able to start on this in August. --Matador (talk) 23:39, 26 July 2022 (CDT)

DBP article titles[edit]

The bold article title in the intro should match the page title and path. So please prefix all with the DBP number. --Xymph (talk) 02:44, 12 April 2023 (CDT)

I can do that but it's technically inaccurate as the DBP prefix isn't actually part of the WAD title, as explained here. --Matador (talk) 02:54, 12 April 2023 (CDT)
Hmm, existing articles like 01, 09, 23, 27 and 50 already have them. For the wiki it would be consistent to add them, and keep things more organized here. Edit: on second thought... the path being prefixed already ensures correct sorting in categories and such. 37 and 45 don't have the prefix in the intro. So if you feel that better matches the DBP intent, then I'm fine with leaving them out. But then the aforementioned ones should get the prefix removed for consistency. --Xymph (talk) 03:00, 12 April 2023 (CDT)
OK, I'll remove the prefixes from the aforementioned DBPs as well as the couple that I added in. --Matador (talk) 03:12, 12 April 2023 (CDT)

Not to revert this decision, but I noticed the DBP prefixes were used in your forums multiple times too, so that convention wasn't just invented here on the wiki. :) --Xymph (talk) 09:19, 16 April 2023 (CDT)

Sure, but the DBP prefix isn't listed as part of the title for any of those DBPs in their respective text files so I don't think it's meant to part of the title and is just there for sort purposes. Similarly, there's plenty of thread titles (Doomer Boards, Doomworld and elsewhere) that include the complevel, number of maps or release candidate in the thread title but those aren't meant to be part of the actual WAD title. --Matador (talk) 14:41, 16 April 2023 (CDT)
