Doom alpha images[edit]
These are very pretty. :> I must point out, however, that it is an open question whether or not modified screenshots can be fair use; don't get too emotionally attached to them. Ryan W 00:14, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
- Well, personally I was just guessing simple act of combining and labelling screenshots for comparative purposes in discussion of history of the software would be definitely fair enough - more so because the combined picture can be argued to be only good for that specific purpose, and not just randomly distributing stuff... but, heck, I'm not a lawyer or anything. =) --wwwwolf (barks/growls) 08:49, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
- I agree that this sounds like common sense, but whenever I find myself using the terms "common sense" and "copyright law" in the same sentence, a little alarm goes off. :> What you wrote here is much more intelligent than anything I would have done; keep up the good work! Anon user comment[edit]
I'm pretty sure that IP users get the "message bar" at the top of the screen, as logged in users do (provided that the address is actually still the same after all this time). So if you want to reply, the software allows it at least. :> Ryan W 23:53, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, they do get the notice and the messages; I just don't know, in general. how fruitful it is to reply to a comment from November to what looks like a dynamic IP address. Besides, it appears to me there has been plenty of communications with this user in Wikipedia at that time. --wwwwolf (barks/growls) 07:38, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
