Wolfenstein: Blade of Agony (sometimes also called WolfenDoom: Blade of Agony) is a total conversion, taking place in a setting reminiscent of Wolfenstein 3D. It is a story-driven FPS. The project is inspired by World War II shooters from the 90's and early 2000's, like Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Medal of Honor, and Call of Duty, but with faster-paced gameplay in the spirit of Doom and Wolfenstein 3D. The game can be played standalone using the GZDoom engine as a base. It has been developed under a team led by Daniel Gimmer (Tormentor667). Blade of Agony also includes its own launcher. It consists of three episodes:
- Chapter 1: Released on November 3, 2016
- Chapter 2: Released on June 9, 2017
- Chapter 3: Released on April 30, 2021
The mod was well received, praised for its complexity and cinematic approach to the Wolfenstein setting, and received a Cacoward in 2016.
