Wolfenstein: Blade of Agony (sometimes also called WolfenDoom: Blade of Agony) is a total conversion, taking place in a setting reminiscent of Wolfenstein 3D. It is a story-driven FPS. The project is inspired by World War II shooters from the 1990s and early 2000s, like Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Medal of Honor, and Call of Duty, but with faster-paced gameplay in the spirit of Doom and Wolfenstein 3D. The game can be played standalone using the GZDoom engine as a base. It has been developed under a team led by Daniel Gimmer (Tormentor667). Blade of Agony also includes its own launcher. It consists of three episodes:

  • Chapter 1: Released on November 3, 2016
  • Chapter 2: Released on June 9, 2017
  • Chapter 3: Released on April 30, 2021

The mod was well received, praised for its complexity and cinematic approach to the Wolfenstein setting, and received a Cacoward in 2016.

There is also a random chance that once you return to HQ, no music will be playing due to the fact that Marlene Dietrich is on the premises, singing "La Vie en rose" to the soldiers in the bar area.
