X-Doom was a ZDaemon server fork. It was created by Chris Laverdure (Dashiva) out of a desire to more closely emulate vanilla Doom behaviors which were at the time not fully supported by ZDaemon, while maintaining compatibility with the port's master server and ZDaemon clients. The last released version dates to October 29, 2004, and was based off the source code for ZDaemon 1.06. Eventually most of the changes X-Doom featured were implemented in ZDaemon 1.07, and that, coupled with the port switching to a closed source model at this time, rendered X-Doom obsolete.
