ZethBSP is a node builder for Doom, Doom II, Heretic, Hexen and ZDoom 1.x, developed in 1999 by Marisa Heit (Randi). It is a fork of BSP 2.3, with support for Hexen maps and enhanced support for ZDoom 1.x maps.

History[edit]

ZethBSP was included with versions 4.02 till 4.05 of the ZETH level editor and was first released on May 18, 1999.

A standalone package derived from the ZETH 4.02-4.05 distributions was uploaded to the /idgames archive in 2023.

Usage[edit]

Command: bSP [options] <input.wad> [-o] [output.wad] (if no output.wad is specified, TMP.WAD is written)

Options:

  • -factor <nnn> - Changes the cost assigned to seg splits;
  • -vp - Attempts to prevent visplane overflows;
  • -vpwarn - Warns about potential visplane overflows;
  • -vpmark - Marks visplane overflows with player starts;
  • -dir - Displays entire resource directory;
  • -thold <nnn> - Threshold for visplane overflow (default 128);
  • -noreject - Does not clobber reject map.
