History[edit]
In 1994 Tomislav Mihalić (Mihha) showed him Doom II and how to play deathmatch over LAN (IPX/SPX). At that time local Doomers commonly played with keyboard only, but after a while a combination of mouse and keyboard became standard.
Zvonimir was a member of the Croatian game clan ZAP which was led by Tomislav. Tomislav invited Sven Huth (Dasa) to Croatia where Zvonimir played a few deathmatch games with Sven.
ZAP was later abandoned by Tomislav and Zvonimir assumed leadership. ZAP was very well known in Croatia for winning every Doom II HINLA tournament held up to that time. ZAP was then renamed to ADISON following a sponsorship deal, and despite their great success in competition the original ZAP team was dismissed.
Zvonimir continued to play Doom II with Marijo Sedlić (Sedlo). They visited Budapest two times to play on LAN against eminent Compet-n maintainer Adam Hegyi, Istvan Pataki, Laszlo Vecsei (Waldon), and Radek Pecka.
From 2000 to 2008 Zvonimir maintained the Croatian Doom portal doom.gamer.hr (formerly doom.gamenet.hr). In 2011, Zvonimir's portal was redesigned by Alen Stojanac (Q) and also moved to another server and domain, www.doom.com.hr.
In June 2012 he announced on Doomworld that he had taken over Compet-n administration and, with the permission of Laura Herrmann (BahdKo), transferred the database to doom.com.hr. In April 2013, cooperative demos were restored and the ability to leave comments on demos was added. As of 2016, he continued active work on the site and has developed a custom source port for world record competition.
In December 2021 Zvonimir announced his intention to shut down the site in July 2022,[1] later extended by a year due to community requests in view of its historical value, and it was migrated to Gamers.org in 2023.[2]
